The ratio of students to teachers in Bristol-Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical School District fell by 5.3% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 1,332 students being taught by 105.3 teachers in Bristol-Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical School District, which covers schools within Bristol County and has a main office in Taunton. That's an average of 12.6 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Bristol-Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical School District had 1,319 students and 99.2 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.
