The ratio of students to teachers in Global Learning Charter Public District remained unchanged in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 504 students being taught by 44.6 teachers in Global Learning Charter Public District, which covers schools within Bristol County and has a main office in New Bedford. That's an average of 11.3 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Global Learning Charter Public District had 503 students and 44.4 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
