Student-to-teacher ratio in Attleboro Public Schools District rose in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Attleboro Public Schools District rose by 3.4% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 5,866 students being taught by 384.5 teachers in Attleboro Public Schools District, which covers schools within Bristol County and has a main office in Attleboro. That's an average of 15.3 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Attleboro Public Schools District had 5,752 students and 388.6 teachers on staff.

However, the state is facing a teacher shortage, just like the rest of the U.S. NewsNation reported that the state was offering emergency teaching licenses to educators who only had bachelor’s degrees, in an effort to get more teachers into schools.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.
