Sophomore Angel Sanchez of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth football team was named to the New England Football Writers Association (NEFW) Division II/III All-New England Team.

Thirty-two conference all-stars representing 22 schools from the six New England Division II and III football playing conferences have been selected to the 2022 New England Football Writers Association All-New England team. The team, selected by a committee of representatives from the six conferences, honors the best Division II and III players by position in New England from the 2022 season.

A wide receiver from Providence, R.I., Sanchez finished the season third in the nation in receiving yards per game (131.2) and sixth in the country in total receiving yards (1,181) with nine touchdown catches. Sanchez put up over 100-yards receiving in seven games this season, including 191 yards and a TD at Mass. Maritime. (Oct. 6) He hauled in two grabs for six twice against Framingham State (Sept. 17) and at Plymouth State (Nov. 11). Sanchez set the UMass Dartmouth single-season record in receiving yards and receiving yards per game.

Junior Quarterback Dante Aviles-Santos, who was already honored by the NEFW as the Season Gold Helmet Award Winner, was named to the team as well.
