The City of Attleboro announced on May 6 that a water main break occurred at 924 Pike Ave., leading to a temporary shutoff of water service on Pike Ave. from Wilmarth Street to Autumn Lane. The road remains open for emergency vehicles only.

City officials said the incident may cause some discoloration of the water in the affected area. Residents are advised to plan laundry activities accordingly and avoid using chlorine bleach during this period.

Those who experience discolored water for more than 24 hours are encouraged to contact the Water Department at 774-203-1850. “We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience,” city officials said.

No further details about repairs or estimated restoration times were provided by city representatives.

The situation highlights ongoing infrastructure challenges that can impact local residents, especially when essential services like water are disrupted.
