 Senior Josh Anschuetz (West Bloomfield, Mich.) was a double-winner for the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's tennis team in a 7-2 loss at host Connecticut College this afternoon in New London, Conn.

The Lyons fall to 3-5 on the season, while the Camels improve to 3-4.

Connecticut College won two of three doubles and five of six singles to gain the victory.

Anschuetz combined with senior Jack Luyrink (Paxton, Mass.) to defeat the Conn. College duo of Aaron Fleishman and Gavin Anderson at number one doubles, 8-6. Anschuetz earned a three-set win over Jules Taylor-Kerman at first singles after winning the opening set, 6-3, before dropping the middle frame, 6-4. The Wheaton senior cruised to a third set win with a 10-4 super tie-breaker decision to take the match.

The Lyon pair of senior Ethan Na (Simsbury, Conn.) and junior Eli Hanlon (Branford, Conn.) fell at second doubles, 8-1, to Taylor-Kerman and Krishh Tipnis. Wheaton seniors Chris Register (Portland, Maine) and Gabriel Fellows (Middletown, R.I.) were defeated at third doubles by James Serhant III and Walker Mulligan by a count of 8-4.

Na was taken down at number two singles by Serhant III, 6-4, 6-3, while junior Ahad Javed (Irving, Texas) dropped a 6-2 effort at fifth singles for the Lyons against Tipnis, before battling to a 7-5 defeat in the second frame. Wheaton sophomore Daniel Bor (Seattle, Wash.) was overcome at number three singles by Anderson, 6-2, 6-2. 

Hanlon and Fellows both suffered 6-0, 6-1 losses at fourth and singles singles, respectively for the Lyons against Mulligan and Andy Feldman. 

Wheaton returns to the court on Wednesday, March 29 when it opens the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference slate in Boston, Mass. against Emerson College, while the Camels host the same Emerson squad on March 22 at 3:00 p.m.
