Kairis Codio of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth football team has been named the Massachusetts State Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Week.
From Randolph, Mass., Codio recorded four solo tackles, a sack for a loss of 20 yards and a forced fumble in the Corsairs' 34-7 victory over Westfield State on Saturday.
On the season, the freshman defensive lineman has seven tackles, two for loss, and two sacks.
UMass Dartmouth returns to the field on Saturday at Fitchburg State at 12 p.m.
