Andrew Bryant Named First Team All-New England by NEIBA

51

Junior Andrew Bryant of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth baseball team was named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-New England First Team.

This marks the fourth postseason award for Bryant, who was also selected as an All-Region performer by both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3baseball.com. Bryant picked up All-Conference honors from the Little East Conference (LEC) as well.

From Canton, Mass., Bryant put together the best season of his career, leading the team with a .415 batting average and 11 home runs. The junior drove in 34 runs, scored 34 more, put up a .680 slugging percentage, finished the year with a .482 on-base percentage, and struck out a team-low 14 times. Bryant went on a 24-game hitting streak beginning at Wheaton College on March 27 and delivered every game up to the LEC semifinal round against UMass Boston on May 13.

UMass Dartmouth finished the season 18-23-1, including a 6-10 mark in the LEC. The Corsairs then went on a memorable postseason run, taking down the second and third seed in the conference to advance to the championship game.
