52

The junior duo of Andrew Bryant and DJ Perron of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth baseball team have earned All-Region recognition after their stellar 2022 campaign. Bryant was named to the First Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and tabbed to the Second Team by D3baseball.com, while Perron earned Third-Team honors from the ABCA.

ANDREW BRYANT - ABCA FIRST TEAM ALL-REGION & D3BASEBALL.COM SECOND TEAM

Bryant had one of the best seasons in the region and was noticed by both the ABCA and D3baseball.com. The Canton, Mass. native led the Corsairs with a .415 batting average and was tied for the most home runs in the Little East Conference (LEC) following the LEC Tournament with 11. Bryant bolstered his impressive resume with 34 RBI, 34 runs scored, a .680 slugging percentage, and a .482 on-base percentage. A two-time LEC Player of the Week, Bryant crushed two home runs in the season opening series at Farmingdale State (2/27) and kept up that pace all year. Bryant went on a 24-game hitting streak beginning at Wheaton College on March 27 and delivered every game up to the LEC semifinal round against UMass Boston on May 13. A Canton, Mass. native, Bryant's second Player of the Week honor came on May 9 after going 9-for-15 for a .600 batting average with two home runs, four RBI, and eight runs scored with a double for the week, including a 5-for-5 performance at the plate at Keene State.

DJ PERRON - ABCA THIRD TEAM ALL-REGION

A two-time All-Conference award winner, Perron picks up his first All-Region honor. From Swansea, Mass., Perron hit .366 and led the Corsairs with 50 RBI, 13 doubles, and three triples. He finished second on the team with nine home runs, 30 runs scored, a .671 slugging percentage, and a .407 on-base percentage. Perron's power came alive late in the season, he hit five of his nine home runs in the final eight games of the season, including three in the LEC Tournament to lead UMass Dartmouth to the championship game.
