There were four machinery manufacturing businesses in Massachusetts that had 500 or more employees in 2016, according to County Business Patterns (CBP) statistics provided by the United States Census Bureau.

CBP data indicates that there are more establishments categorized as health care and social assistance businesses with 500 or more employees in Massachusetts than in any other category.

The following table shows how many machinery manufacturing businesses with 500 or more employees were in Massachusetts during the period from 2012 to 2016.
