The Stonehill women’s lacrosse team will play against No. 5 ranked Stony Brook in the opening round of the NCAA tournament, according to a May 3 announcement by the NCAA on ESPNU.
This matchup marks Stonehill’s first appearance in the NCAA Division I tournament. The Skyhawks secured their spot after winning both the Northeast Conference regular-season and tournament titles, finishing with a 13-6 overall record.
Stony Brook enters the game as the fifth seed, holding a record of 17-2 and having won the Colonial Athletic Association championship. The first-round contest is scheduled for Friday, May 8 at LaValle Stadium, with a start time of 1 p.m.
