The Stonehill College softball team ended its participation in the FAU Paradise Classic with a loss to Florida Atlantic University (FAU) on Sunday in Boca Raton, Florida.
Freshman pitcher Mylee Ramer stood out for Stonehill by delivering three innings of relief. She recorded two strikeouts and had a 5-2 ground out-to-fly out ratio.
FAU started strong, sending eight batters to the plate in the first inning and scoring four runs. Ramer entered the game as a reliever for Harper Sullivan and was able to contain the Owls’ offense after that initial surge.
In the third inning, FAU added another run when McKenna Mulholland hit a two-out home run, increasing their lead to five. This margin proved sufficient as Madison Inscoe kept Stonehill’s hitters off balance throughout the game and secured her first win of the season.
Stonehill will return to action from February 27 to March 1 at the Austin Peay Governors Classic. Their next scheduled opponent is Ohio University on February 27 at 10 a.m.
