The Stonehill men’s indoor track and field team received the Northeast Conference (NEC) Team Sportsmanship Award, according to a May 18 announcement from the league.
The recognition marks the second time that Stonehill has earned this honor since joining the NEC. Head coach Mike Delgado led the Skyhawks during this period. The award is given to teams that display outstanding sportsmanship throughout the season.
Stonehill was also selected as the recipient of the team sportsmanship award for both men’s and women’s basketball. Other winter sport recipients included Wagner for women’s bowling and men’s swimming and diving, as well as Le Moyne for women’s swimming and diving, and women’s indoor track and field.
The NEC Team Sportsmanship Awards are presented annually to programs that exemplify respect, fair play, civility, and graciousness in victory or defeat within conference competition. These awards reflect positively on both athletes and coaching staff who uphold these values during their respective seasons.
