Stonehill College athletics announced on April 9 that it welcomed student-athletes from the Classes of 2026 and 2027 into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society during a ceremony at the Shields Science Center.
The event marked Stonehill’s second annual induction ceremony for Chi Alpha Sigma, which honors student-athletes who excel in both academics and athletics. The society is recognized nationally for promoting academic achievement among college athletes.
Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 by Nick Mourouzis, then head football coach at DePauw University. It now includes 498 active chapters across the United States. To be eligible for induction, student-athletes must be members of a varsity team at an NCAA or NAIA-affiliated four-year institution, have junior academic standing after four full-time semesters, and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.
A full list of inductees from Stonehill’s Classes of 2026 was provided by the college, representing various sports including basketball, ice hockey, soccer, tennis, swimming and diving, golf, lacrosse, field hockey, baseball, volleyball, track and field, equestrian sports and football.
The college encouraged supporters to follow updates about Stonehill Athletics on its official social media channels.
