The City of Attleboro announced on May 6 that recycling and yard waste collections have been delayed in several neighborhoods due to truck capacity limitations. Waste Management said the affected areas will be serviced first thing the following day.

The delays impact residents on Read Street (between County Street and Country View Drive), Willow Creek Drive, Joanna Drive, Wright Circle, and Pond Street North for recycling collection. Yard waste pickups are also postponed for Thurber Avenue, Welsh Lane, Valley Run Drive, Parsonage Way, Abbie Lane, Cathedral Drive, Oak Hill Avenue (from Thurber Avenue to Bishop Avenue), Bliss Avenue, and Frenier Avenue.

According to the city’s announcement, these neighborhoods will receive service as a priority when trucks resume operations. Residents are encouraged to leave their materials curbside until collection is completed.

The city apologized for any inconvenience caused by these delays. Residents with questions or concerns are advised to call (508) 223-2222 extension 3245 for more information.

Such service interruptions can affect regular routines for households relying on timely waste removal. The city’s communication aims to keep residents informed about changes and ensure prompt follow-up service.
