Junior Jacob Borch-Nielsen and sophomore Hector Cebrian of the Stonehill College men’s tennis team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, according to a May 12 announcement by the organization.
This recognition highlights both athletes’ achievements in academics and athletics. Borch-Nielsen was recently inducted into Stonehill’s Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete. Cebrian, in his first season with the Skyhawks, earned his first CSC Academic All-District honor after tying for third on the team with eight singles wins and leading with 11 doubles victories.
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must participate in at least 70 percent of their team’s scoring matches while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher.
The achievement reflects both players’ dedication on and off the court as well as their commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic competition.
Stonehill Athletics encourages fans to follow updates about its teams through social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
