Guillermo Bennaton and Javier Gutierrez of the Stonehill College men’s tennis team were named to the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) Second Team in doubles, according to a May 1 announcement.
The recognition highlights the achievements of the sophomore pair during the season. Both Bennaton and Gutierrez earned their first career All-NEC Second Team honors as doubles partners. This acknowledgment comes after Bennaton was previously selected for the All-NEC Rookie Team last season, while Gutierrez receives his first conference postseason honor.
Together, Bennaton and Gutierrez posted a 7-4 overall record in doubles matches, including an undefeated 6-0 record at No. 2 doubles. Individually, Bennaton finished with a 10-10 record in doubles play across all partners. Gutierrez led the Skyhawks with a 13-5 mark in doubles competition throughout the season.
The duo’s performance contributed significantly to Stonehill College men’s tennis success this year. The team’s results reflect consistent efforts by both players on and off the court.
